We support children who suffer from congenital heart diseases (chd)providing them specialized medical examinations and treatments
We support children with congenital heart diseases, providing them free special medical examinations and treatments, which are necessary for their condition and their health. We promote the well-being of sick and underprivileged children, who are in need of urgent medical care, ensuring them to have access to specialized quality health services. It worths to be mentioned that every year more than 100 families of children with chd, with low income, seek help to our Association in order to receive financial support for their children's examinations and treatments, as they are not covered by their national insurance .
This year, Panhellenic Association " Child’s Heart" participates for the 1st time, to the global movement #GivingTuesday, aiming to raise funds in order to provide free special examination and treatments to our little fighters of life, with priority to children who come from low income families (uninsured,indigent, single-parent families, etc.). The action will be active until 15/12/2022.

The action was planned with to support children with CHD and their caregivers, who have no access to the required health services, due to financial difficulties. It is worth to be mentioned that every year 700-900 children are born in Greece suffering from CHD (heart or blood vessels congenital defects). CHD are part of Rare Diseases, as they come in many and complex forms, which could cause, in some cases, significant physical dysfunctions to patients (disability). The action was planned with to support children with CHD and their caregivers, who have no access to the required health services, due to financial difficulties. It is worth to be mentioned that every year 700-900 children are born in Greece suffering from CHD (heart or blood vessels congenital defects). CHD are part of Rare Diseases, as they come in many and complex forms, which could cause, in some cases, significant physical dysfunctions to patients (disability). " Child’s Heart" Association covers the costs of medical examinations which is not undertaken by the State.

Few words about “Child’s Heart” association
“Child’s Heart” is a Pan-Hellenic Association that protects, informs and helps children and adults with Congenital Heart Disease. “Child’s Heart” was founded in 1983 by parents of children with Congenital Heart Disease. Each year in Greece, about 1000 children are born with heart malformations. The main aim of the association is to provide every kind of moral and financial support to these children and their families. “Child’s Heart” counts 1.700 members and during the 39 years of operation over 5.000 children have been helped, effectively, financially and repeatedly in many different ways. “Child’s Heart” is a founding member and it collaborates with European Congenital Heart Disease Organisation ECHDO, with Greek Alliance for Rare Diseases and the Greek Patient Association .
The primary concern of this Pan-Hellenic Association is the information, encouragement and support of parents and their children, the facilitation of booking appointments with doctors, outpatient infirmaries, medical exams, but especially the financial assistance, such as payment of catheterization, cardiac pacemakers, surgical operations, coverage of accommodation expenses for deprived and uninsured families and mainly for families coming from the province.
