The Social Company Cooperative Social Worker will be informing both the disabled persons themselves and their family members about their obligations, so that their integration into society can be smoother, with the constant aim of improving their quality of life. In addition, free information will be provided for the preparation of a reference file to be submitted to the K.P.A. (Center for Certified Disability).
Action Short Description
The services will be provided by the Social Worker and will be offered to persons with disabilities, their families and those in their immediate environment. It will concern the information and awareness of the general public on issues of access, parking and generally free movement of citizens with disabilities, which can only be achieved in full cooperation and interaction with the community. Information advisory services will also be provided on employment legislation, the labour market and insurance cover.
Furthermore, there will be guidance for people who have the right to submit a file to certify their disability, so that all the required documents are completed correctly and methodically, in order for the citizen concerned to be examined by a health committee of the K.P.A. (Center for Certified Disability). Then, after receiving the Certification of Disability, the Social Worker will continue to work with him/her in order to inform him/her of all the legal benefits to which he/she is entitled, depending on the degree of disability.

PCT that is active in the Prefecture of Heraklion, in the field of social care and deals with the care of the elderly, children and people with disabilities, with the sole purpose of providing high quality services to them, to have a decent living in their own space, offering combined services of social worker, nurse, family helper and physiotherapist.
