Short Description of Institute
Archangelos Michael" Kaimakli Nursing Home [AMEN] is a Community Charitable Foundation, a non-profit organization, leading by community volunteers. For 37 years it has been making its presence in the social events of Cyprus, contributing greatly to the differentiation and the way of applying its services to vulnerable groups of people.
More specifically, it supports the following programs:
• Institutional Care and Nursing of the elderly and people belonging in vulnerable groups
• Palliative Care - Chronic Cases of the Ministry of Health
• Rehabilitation and Strengthening - Operation of a Physiotherapy Center
• Operation of a Day Care Center for patients with Alzheimer's and related diseases
The programs are implemented by the well-trained human resources of the Organization, as well as by the unique interprofessional team that it has created to implement strategies and actions contributing to the development of interventions adapted to the different and distinct needs.
The adoption of new innovative interventions to vulnerable people has incomprehensibly put AMEN as a point of reference at an academic level too, since it is certified as an Educational Training Center in Cyprus. Furthermore, AMEN is exploited as an educational institution for public and private Universities of Cyprus in order for the students to perform their internship programs. Currently, AMEN has been participating in two European Programs: CAPTAIN and GATEKEEPER. AMEN implements an integrated e-health system for its beneficiaries, which has been achieved through the collaborations developed in recent years.
It is worth mentioning that since 2017, AMEN has launched an exclusive collaboration with the Laboratory of Medical Physics and Digital Innovation of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki for the utilization of the Integrated Health Care System - LLM Care in Cyprus for cognitive and physical improvement of the elderly people. All the above were contributing to the award of AMEN as the Nursing Home of the year 2020/2021.
