Amimoni participates in Giving Tuesday on November 30, 2021 with the aim of equal and dignified living of Multiply Disabled Visually Impaired People.

🌈Our vision for all the multiple disabled visually impaired people in Greece is to
-have access to the education and therapies needed,
-make full use of their potential
-and live as self-sufficient and as dignified as possible throughout their
life.
Even more, for their families to be supported and cared in order to overcome their increased needs.

More than 480 families have already benefited from our services in terms of education, therapy, counselling and support. At present “Amimoni” is providing its services for 90 individuals, aged between infants and 45-year-old adults.

Short Description of Institute

“Amimoni” is a Panhellenic Association of Parents, Guardians and Friends of Multiply Disabled Visually Impaired People.

Amimoni’ s Mission is the provision of lifelong education, care and support to every Multiply Disabled Visually Impaired Person and their family, covering their special needs at any age, for as long as needed.

Our programmes:
1. “Iris” Day Care Centre: Located in Elliniko. It started operating as such in 2005 (From 1995 to 2005, “Epikoinonia” Day Care Centre used to operate there, having a different legal status). It is subsidised by the Greek Ministry of Health and the Region of Attica.
2. Early Intervention: Programme for children aged 0-6 years old having the aforementioned disabilities. It has been running since 2004. Sessions with disability specialists take place at the house of each child. For the period 2016-2019, this programme has received a grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.
3. Guesthouse “Polichni”: Educational Programme promoting Independent Living for children, aged 8 years old or over, and adults with disabilities. The programme is held at a residence in Chalandri. It has been running since 1996.
4. “Lilian Voudouri” Assisted Living Residence: This is the first long-term residence in Greece, built with an emphasis on ease of use for multiply disabled visually impaired people. It is located in Pikermi. It has been open since 2012.
